Romantic Rajasthan with Taj Mahal

DAY 01 : ARRIVE DELHI
Morning flight from Mumbai to Delhi .
Flight No : 9W 301 ( Jet airways )
Departure at Mumbai :07:00 AM
Arrival at Delhi : 08 : 55 AM

On arrival meet and assist at the airport and transfer to pre booked hotel . Delhi : India’s capital & a major gateway to the country, contemporary Delhi is a bustling metropolis which successfully combines in its fold the ancient & the modern. Its strategic location was one of the prime reasons why successive dynasties chose it as their seat of power. New Delhi also reflects the legacy the British left behind . The division between New & Old Delhi is the distinction between the capitals of the British & the Moghuls respectively. So, wherever the visitor goes, he will invariably confront the citys’ past. Later full day city tour of old & modern capital of India. Visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Built by Shah Jahan, the construction was started in 1844 and was not completed until 1658 ; visit Red Fort ( from out side only, as it is not permitted to visit from inside due to security reason ), which was also built by Shah Jehan. This massive fort was built from 1638 to 1648 ; Rajghat - the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Witness the India Gate, the Presidents House & the Parliament. Visit Humayun's Tomb : built in mid 16th century this is an early example of Mughal architecture; Qutab Minar.

DAY 02 : DELHI - AGRA
After breakfast drive to Agra, ( 230 KMs & 4 hrs:30 minutes drive).
Upon arrival, check-in at Hotel. Afternoon, city tour of Agra. Visit Red fort, which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565,and additions weremade up until the time of his grandson, Shah Jahan. It contains thehall of public and private audiences amongst many other beautifulstructures. Thehighlight of the day - The Taj Mahal, which was constructed by Shah Jahan in memoryof his wife Mumtaz Mahal.Contruction of the Taj began in 1631 and was not completed until 1653.
Overnight stay at Agra.

DAY 03 : AGRA – ( Fatehpur Sikri , Bharatpur ) – JAIPUR
After breakfast, leave for Jaipur ( 250 Kms / 6 Hours drive ). Enroute visit the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri : built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Moghuls, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other Palaces which are still preserved in its original glory. Later on on the way to Jaipur stop at Bharatpur to visit “Keoladeo Ghana National Park” Keoladeo Ghana National Park, popularly known as Bharatpur is India's best known bird sanctuary. This 28.7 square kilometer mixed wetland, woodland, grass and scrub is home to 400 plus species of birds. Keoladeo has been famous for the last visiting pair of the western race of the Siberian Crane. Unfortunately, the pair did not winter in Bharatpur for two years in succession ( 2003 & 2004) and it is likely that this species is now extinct in India. After the visit, continue drive to Jaipur - The capital city of the state of Rajasthan also know as “Pink City” owes its name, its foundation and planning to the great warrior astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II. The city of Jaipur has broad avenues. The city sits on a dry lake bed in a wild and somewhat arid landscape, surrounded by barren hills surmounted by fortresses and crenellated walls. Arrive Jaipur in the evening and check in at hotel. Overnight stay at Jaipur. JAIPUR - The origins of the beautiful city of Jaipur can be traced back to the eighteenth century, during the reign of Jai Singh II who ascended the Amber throne in 1699. Jaipur today, epitomizes the spirit of Rajputana. In-spite of growing into a bustling metropolis, it still retains it's character and history - A beautiful fusion of the yesteryears and modernity. Popularly known as the Pink City because of the extensive use of the locally abundant pink plastered stone, painted so in honor of the visit of the royal consort of Queen Victoria. Jaipur thrills the soul with its massive forts, magnificent palaces, exquisite temples and lush gardens.

DAY 04 : JAIPUR

After breakfast, excursion to Amber Fort enroute witness the façade of Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds which was built in 1799. Amber Fort - The ancient capital of the state until 1727 when Jai Singh decided to move from his hillside fortress at Amber to new site on the plains. The construction of this fort began in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commander of Akbar’s army. The fort is a superb example of Rajput architecture, stunningly situated on a hillside and overlooking a lake which reflects its terraces and ramparts. Visit the Jagmandir or the hall of victory glittering with mirrors, Jai Mahal & temple of Kali. Ascend on elephant back, the hill, on which the fort is situated. Afternoon, city tour of Jaipur. Visit the Jantar Mantar – the observatory built by Jai Singh in 1728; the City Palace which is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. It also has a museum with an extensive collection of art, carpets, paintings, enamel ware and weapons dating back to the 15th century.

DAY 05 : JAIPUR – Udaipur ( by Flight )

After early breakfast , departure transfer to Airport to Fly Udaipur.

Arrival at Udaipur : 07 : 45 AM
On arrival at Udaipur our company representative will pick you up and transfer you to Hotel.
UDAIPUR : One of the most romantic cities in Rajasthan, Udaipur is also known as the city of lakes. The marble palaces, beautifully laid out gardens and the lakes make Udaipur seem almost like a mirage in the desert. The founder of Udaipur, Maharana Udai Singh, was overcome by the misfortunes that his old capital of Chittaurgarh had to face due to repeated attacks by the Mughal armies. On the advice of a holy man, Udai Singh shifted his capital to the banks of Lake Pichola- the city was named Udaipur after him. Rest till lunch . Afternoon Boat ride at Lake Pichola and visit “Jag Mandir” . Evening free at leisure. Overnight in stay at Udaipur.

DAY 06 : Udaipur
Breakfast at Hotel . Morning visit the City Palace, Jagdish Temple, drive around Sahelion ki Bari (queen's resort for her friends), Fateh sagar Lake. Return to Hotel , after noon at leisure . We suggest you to walk around the Lake or enjoy the view of the mountain from your hotel.
Overnight stay at Udaipur.

DAY 07 : Udaipur – Mumbai ( by Flight )
Breakfast at Hotel. Later on Transfer to Domestic Airport to Fly back to Mumbai.

Arrival at Mumbai : 09 : 35 PM
